Birdsong through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, much was accomplished, the cornerstone was laid, 17 Deacons were ordained, the mortgage was paid off, we purchased the annex and parking lot, paid for our organ, piano and cooling system and the Youth and Inspirational Choirs were organized. On September 13, 1976, Rev. Birdsong was called from labor to reward.

In September of 1977, the Holy Spirit guided the membership to call Rev. J.P. Anderson as Pastor. Under his leadership, a new roof was put on the church and was renovated. He organized the Christian Education Department and the Young Women Auxilary. Rev. Hardy Gibson was ordained into the ministry and five deacons were ordained under Rev. Anderson. On October 26, 1986, Rev. J.P. Anderson resigned from the Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church.

In 1988, The following auxiliaries were reorganized: The Jr Mission, Matrons, Youth and Young Adult Department and Bible Study Classes. Our Mission Department was organized and we have fed and clothed many over the years through our Wednesday Mission Outreach. In 1994, Pastor Devereaux’s Good News Radio Broadcast was started on KTYM 1460 AM.
-
In 1997, we stepped out on faith to renovate our church building. In May 1997, the annex was renovated so we could have a place to worship. In June 1997, our old sanctuary was demolished and on March 18, 1998, we received our permanent occupancy certificate. Under Pastor Devereaux’s leadership, 15 deacons have been ordained. On December 31, 2013, Pastor Clarence D. Devereaux retired after 26 years of service. Much has been accomplished and we are still going to higher heights in the Lord.
